The fundraiser for the North Bend Food Bank was this past week and I feel fortunate enough to dontae several bowls to the project. I hope this fundraiser not only brings in money to the food bank, but also raises awareness that there is a lot of need in the community and that the food bank is an important resource for a large percentage of families in the valley.

This weeks schedual has been a little messed up. Yesterday I was able to make three projects; a plate, orb and glaze tester cylinder. Sadly, the orb's base was too thin and broke while footing. The other two projects have been sucessfully footed and placed on the bisque shelf.

This week I have kind of avoided the wheel because I have been having a lot of lower back pain, but I was luckily able to glaze the vase I made several days ago. My newest vase is glazed with three different colors, each over laping each other.

Today I made the second vase for my set of three. I'm hoping it's going to be bigger than my first vase.

Today I posted the a picture and paragraph explaining my first bowl and tall project.

The majority of this week I plan on glazing projects that way they should come out of the kiln before the end of the week.

After completing several projects on the wheel I decided to glaze my first bowl which had come out the bisque several days earlier, only to discover someone had tried to take it by attempting to write over my name with a pen. Luckily we were able to clear everything up and scratch the name off the bottom.

I footed my tall project today and as I said yesterday I carved in lines of different thicknesses on the majority of the body. After I footed it I realized the bottom was still a bit thick and i could have shaved off more. I think I will be able to alter its slight flare after glazing it. I also had time to re-make my second bowl on the wheel.

Today I made my tall project on the wheel. It is a simple vase and I plan on carving in details when i foot it tomorrow.

I was able to foot my first bowl and I also had more time to make a second bowl. Similar to the first bowl the second bowl should be ready to foot
